Toxic Things I Think
… you probably do too.
I’ll be honest, this post is basically just me completely calling myself out. But, if you look at it through your eyes and do actually think some of the same things, than consider me calling you out too.
Now, you may be wondering: “Liv, why are you doing this to yourself… no one is asking you to do this?”. And yes, you’re right. I am doing this for no other reason than to be a better person.
It’s is really quite simple… if I am uncomfortable and can’t fess up to myself that I have areas to improve, then I won’t. But am am not just going to leave it there, I am also going to tell you what I am going to do about it… how am I going to be better.
So… here I am, being brutally honest with you, and with myself.
“I’m better”
This is the one that made me realize that I needed to write this post. First and foremost, being ‘better’ is completely subjective and a generalization. It is assuming that you are literally the best at everything, which is impossible. To shift this mental process, I add to the phrase. It is simple, but it changes the entire dynamic of the thought.
I’m better… than I was.
